Action Pumps Ltd traces its roots back to the formation of Action Pumping Services Ltd in 1983.
Its manufacturing division was formed in 1987, under the trading name of Cumulus Pump Sets, to
develop packaged pump set business opportunities. Action Pumps now specialises in the manufacture,
distribution, installation and maintenance of packaged pump sets for pressure boosting applications.
Pumps
|
In its role as a stockist, distributor and agent, the company provides pumps from many manufacturers
– including Grundfos, Lowara, Holden & Brooke, Pullen, Weir, Goulds, KSB, Interdab, Stuart Turner,
ABS, Flowserve (formerly Ingersoll-Dresser) and Mono Pumps – and offers expert, independent advice
and pump selection relating to various pumping applications.
Products include single and twin head, glandless, in-line circulators for heating and
ventilation applications; close-coupled or belt-drive, end suction and in-line pumps
for larger projects; and vertical, multistage pumps for pressure boosting, fire hose
reel and high pressure applications. All are available in fixed or variable speed
configurations. Submersible pumps and packaged stations for sewage and drainage
installations, and submersible borehole pumps for water supply applications,
are also available.

Pump Sets
|
|
BS Series packaged booster pump sets are designed for building services applications,
and are available in one, two or three pump configurations. They comprise WRc-approved
horizontal or vertical multistage pumps and Table X copper pipe manifolds, all of which
are mounted on powder-coated base and panel supports. BS Series pump sets also
incorporate individual pump suction and discharge isolation valves; non-return valves for
each pump; glycerine-filled pressure gauges; and a choice of pressure vessels complete with
replaceable diaphragm. Control systems are available as fixed or variable speed options.
|
EF Series packaged booster pump sets are likewise designed for building services applications,
and are available in two, three or four pump configurations. They comprise WRc approved vertical
multistage pumps, galvanised steel pipe manifolds, mounted on a welded steel base. They are also
available with a CAPS automatic prime maintenance system.
|
Customised Systems
|
Action Pumps also manufactures custom-built, fully automatic pumping systems, including cold water
booster sets for building services, irrigation, general industrial and fire hose reel applications; high pressure wash down packages for
the water industry; and pressurisation units for heating and chilled water systems. Variable speed and packaged hydropneumatic fixed-speed
pump sets have been produced, many of which are currently in use in numerous applications across the world.

Pressurisation Sets
|
|
|
|
|
Pressurisation sets are available for heating and chilled water systems. They are supplied in single or
twin pump configurations, base mounted or cabinet enclosed with a variety of control options, and with
expansion vessels ranging in capacity from 20 to 1000 litres.
|
|
Packaged pumping stations
|
|
Packaged submersible pumping stations are available for sewage and wastewater lift applications
where gravity drainage is not possible. Single or twin pump arrangements include chamber
pipework and valves, level controls and alarms, guide rails, lifting chains and pedestrian or vehicular
access covers. All are installed in prefabricated chambers designed for easy installation on site.

|
Electrical control systems
|
|
|
Action Pumps can also undertake the design, construction and commissioning of electrical control systems and associated
equipment, from starter panels to motor control centres.
Many of the company’s control panels feature microprocessor controllers, and utilise variable speed drives to provide constant or proportional flow or pressure.
